Vietnam proudly marks another milestone in its fruit export journey — becoming the first country approved to export star apples to the United States. Today, these creamy, sweet tropical fruits are available in major U.S. supermarket chains, winning over consumers with their natural sweetness, signature aroma, and milky juiciness.
According to preliminary data from Vietnam Customs, the country’s fruit and vegetable exports to the U.S. reached USD 261.6 million in July 2025, up 66% year-on-year. Among the most sought-after fruits in the U.S. market are mangoes, bananas, pineapples, star apples, longans, dragon fruit, and passion fruit — all known for their tropical appeal and export quality.
To meet the high export standards, each star apple must weigh at least 250 grams, be free from blemishes, and meet strict pest control and hygiene requirements. Farmers use only organic fertilizers and biological pest management methods to ensure safety and sustainability.
Star apple cultivation in Vietnam is moving toward sustainable farming and transparent traceability, where farmers minimize chemical use and recycle agricultural by-products into natural compost — resulting in healthier soil and naturally sweet fruit.
At WEFCO, we proudly supply Frozen Whole Star Apple (500g/bag) — carefully selected, processed, and frozen at peak freshness to retain its authentic flavor and texture.
Our products meet international export standards, offering a convenient way for distributors and foodservice partners worldwide to enjoy the true taste of Vietnam’s tropical fruits.
